The TMSAA held three state championship events in middle Tennessee on May 19-20, 2023. The third annual Softball and Baseball State Championships took place at Drakes Creek Park in Hendersonville, while Austin Peay State University in Clarksville hosted the seventh annual Track & Field State Championships.

In softball, semifinal games in Class A and AA were played Friday, with consolation and championship games on Saturday. Rain delays Saturday morning pushed the start times back six hours. Charlotte Middle won 10-1 over Unicoi Co. Middle in the Class A championship game. Three Oaks Middle defeated Coalfield Middle 10-1 in the 3rd place game. For the Class AA title, West Wilson Middle came out on top of Coffee Co. Middle 10-7. Ross N. Robinson Middle earned a 6-0 victory over Arlington Middle for 3rd place.

Class A & AA baseball teams fought it out in semifinal games on Friday and championship and consolation games on Saturday. In Class A, Martin Middle defeated Athens City Middle 6-4 for the championship. In the 3rd place game, E.O. Coffman Middle came out on top of Unicoi Co. Middle 5-2. Woodland Middle defeated West Collierville Middle 8-0 to earn the Class AA title. Mt. Juliet Middle claimed third place with a 3-1 victory over Ocoee Middle.

In Track & Field, individual state champions were crowned for girls and boys in Class A and Class AA in four field events and nine running events. Mt. Pisgah Middle took home the team championship trophy for Class A Girls, with Alcoa Middle earning girls' runner-up honors. On the Class A Boys' side, Alcoa Middle won the championship with Lowrance Middle and Memphis Business Academy tying for the boys' runners-up. In Class AA, the West Collierville Middle School girls' and Brentwood Middle School boys' teams were crowned champions, with the White Station girls and the Page boys securing the runner-up spots. In total, athletes from 168 member middle schools competed in the 2023 State Meet.
