In addition to the cross country races, the event also served as a platform for compassion and community support. Maggie Moore, a 7th grader from Greeneville Middle School who finished 9th in the Class AA Girls’ Race organized a sock drive to aid those in East Tennessee affected by Hurricane Helene.

Moore's initiative drew an amazing response from participating schools, with runners and spectators alike contributing to the cause. The turnout exceeded expectations, and the generous donations of socks will make a meaningful impact on the counties struggling to recover from the devastating effects of the hurricane.

Maggie Moore’s leadership and dedication to helping others serves as a powerful reminder of how the TMSAA community can come together not just for athletic competition, but to support those in need during challenging times.

TMSAA would like to congratulate all of its member schools and athletes who participated in these season-culminating events over the weekend on their tremendous seasons.
