Weakley Park in Clarksville hosted the 9th annual TMSAA Cross Country State Championships on September 30th, featuring 566 runners from 100 member schools. Championship races were held for girls and boys in Class A and Class AA.
For the girls' championships, Lake Road School placed 1st among Class A teams, with 8th grader Ainsley Sadler winning her second consecutive individual state championship in a time of 13:15.66. Rogersville City School was the runner-up team. In Class AA, Liberty Creek Middle School's Gracie Ray won individual honors in a time of 12:29.60 and led her team to its first state championship. Station Camp was the Class AA team runner-up.
Class A Girls' Race
On the boys' side, Murfreesboro Central Middle Magnet School and Chattanooga Middle School for the Liberal Arts placed 1st and 2nd, respectively, among Class A teams. Unicoi County 8th grader Curtis Todd finished first overall in 11:50.05. In Class AA, Collierville 8th grader Gabriel Bullock earned the individual state title in a time of 11:17.50. Woodland Middle School was the state championship team, with Houston Middle School earning the runner-up trophy.

Meanwhile in Murfreesboro, Adams Tennis Complex hosted the TMSAA Tennis State Championships from September 30th through October 1st as part of USTA's Middle School Tennis State Tournament. Collierville Middle School earned the top spot for TMSAA boys, while Siegel Middle School won the TMSAA girls' division. More information on this event can be found here.
