The fourth annual TMSAA Basketball State Championships were held at four sites in Rutherford County this past weekend. 12 girls' and 12 boys' teams competed for the championship trophy in 3 classifications.

The title games for Class A & AA were played at Stewarts Creek High School on Saturday, February 12. In Class A, Grandview Elementary defeated Oneida Middle 37-32 to claim the girls' championship while South Lawrence Middle bested Woodstock Middle 38-32 in the boys' championship. Prescott South Middle earned the Class AA girls' title with a 43-29 victory over New Center Elementary, but New Center Elementary came out on top for the boys' championship with a 46-31 win over Upperman Middle.

Meanwhile, Class AAA teams battled it out for championships at Rockvale High School. Blackman Middle came home with the girls' championship, beating White Co. Middle 41-37. Havenview Middle was named the boys' champion with a 29-27 win over Station Camp Middle.
