The sixth TMSAA Basketball State Championships were held this past weekend on the campuses of Stewarts Creek High & Middle School and Rockvale High & Middle School in Rutherford County. The four sectional winners in each classification were invited to participate in the two-day tournament, which included semifinal games on Friday night, with 3rd-place and championship games on Saturday.

The Class A girls' champions were Rogersville City School, who defeated West Junior High 61-24. Homestead Elementary beat Isaiah T. Creswell Middle 59-32 for third. For the boys, West Junior High took home the championship trophy, beating Bulls Gap Middle 57-32. Knowledge Academies Middle earned the boys' third-place trophy after a 42-20 win over Powell Valley Elementary.

Prescott South Middle bested Three Oaks Middle 37-15 for the Class AA girls' championship. Alcoa Middle defeated Bellevue Middle 52-27 in the third-place game. Thompson's Station Middle overcame Bellevue Middle 38-34 to win the boys' championship. The third-place trophy went to Inman Middle after a 40-35 win over Norris Middle.

In Class AAA, Sevier Co. Middle earned the girls' championship trophy with a 35-29 win over Mt. Juliet Middle. Blackman Middle won the 3rd place game 47-29 over West Collierville Middle. On the boys' side, Elmore Park Middle took home their 2nd-straight championship, defeating Blackman Middle 62-45.
